If you’re reading this Mark Zuckerberg please look away now. It has been predicted that Google+ will have over 400 million users by the end of this year. There are some 625,000 new members a day. That’s a lot of members. It’s nowhere near Facebook’s 800 million users but it’s worth noting, fellow content marketers, just how important it’s becoming.
Imagine, one day Google+ overtaking Facebook or Twitter. Okay, let’s not go nuts! But when it comes to deciding where to focus your time and effort you might want to start giving Google+ a little extra attention.
So what’s it got that’s so great?
First of all it’s a great way to share content. If you want to stay ahead in the search rankings and you’re sharing varied and quality content then you’ve come to the right place. Google+ is becoming more and more like Google everyday. In other words, social search and personal search have now combined (Search and Your World). The social search algorithm, and the personal search algorithm, and the personalised search algorithm are actually one algorithm now.
Unlike Facebook and Twitter, Google+ is more than your average social network. When you think about the strong links it has with Google Docs, Chrome, Google Reader, Gmail and YouTube, it sure is a force to be reckoned with!
Basically you can afford to let this one slip through your fingers, or you may find your online presence starting to sink slightly!
Anyone Google+ users have any helpful tips or tricks to share?
